_Vertical City Asia_ International Design Competition Starts

 

The "Vertical City Asia" International Design Competition (VCA) began on January 1, 2011. A dedicated website has also been set up: http://www.verticalcitiesasia.com/.

There are 10 universities in total that entered for the competition over Asia, Europe and North America, including: Tsinghua University, Tongji University, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Tokyo University, National University of Singapore, ETH Zurich, Delft University of Technology, University of California at Berkeley, University of Michigan and University of Pennsylvania.

This competition was sponsored by World Future Foundation (WFF), hosted by National University of Singapore (NUS). All competitors from prestigious schools of architecture will work in groups to contribute to the topics of liveability and sustainability with their creative ideas and theories. The top three will be honoured for the prize and get the chance to communicate with architectural design masters.

The first competition will be held from Jan 1st to Jun 30th, 2011. In early July 2011, each university will select two representing teams to attend the final contest in Singapore.
