Lu Bo Appointed as Advisor to ACSEP
Mr Lu Bo, Managing Director of World Future Foundation, has been appointed as Member of the Advisory Board of Asia Centre for Social Entrepreneurship and Philanthropy (ACSEP) at the National University of Singapore (NUS). The duration of appointment is for a three-year term from April 2011 to June 2014.
Established in August 2008, ACSEP aims to advance social entrepreneurship and philanthropy research and education, as well as enhance the community development efforts of the university's students, alumni, staff and other stakeholders. Presently, ACSEP hopes to initiate various research projects on philanthropy in Asia, develop more case studies in the Asian context, and also initiate some executive education programs targeting organizations involved in the philanthropic sector in Asia. What’ more, ACSEP aspires to be a centre of excellence in social entrepreneurship and philanthropy research and education, and in mobilization of human and other resources towards community development efforts.
As an advisor to ACSEP, Mr Lu is required to provide guidance and support in developing and promoting ACEP’S mission, to advise ACSEP on its plans to raise and utilize financial and other resources, to provide oversight over ACSEP’s activities, and ensure best practices are being used in the Centre at all times.
In addition to Mr Lu, the other members of the Board are: Mr Keith Chua (Chairman), Executive Chairman of the ABR Holdings Limited; Ms Ang Bee Lian, Chief Executive Officer of National Council of Social Service; Mr Neville Azzopardi, Managing Director of Wealth Management, UBS AG; Ms Elim Chew, Founder and President of 77th Street.com Pte Ltd; Mr Tay Puan Siong, Director of Stamford Tyres Corporation Ltd; Mr Eric Teng, Chief Executive Officer of The Straits Trading Company Ltd; and Dr Mary Ann Tsao, President and Founding Director of Tsao Foundation.
