On November 27, 2010, the first Chinese University Students Competition on Venture Philanthropy was held in Tsinghua University, Beijing. As the only representative of a foreign charity, Mr Lu Bo, Managing Director of World Future Foundation, was invited to be a judge for the competition.

23 teams from 10 universities around China participated in the one day event. All entries were related to energy, environment, education and other related fields. After the final two rounds of competition, the team “Sunshine” from Tsinghua University and the team “Dream Flowers” from Wuhan University tied for the Gold Awards. Another two teams each won a Silver and Bronze Medal, as well.

Mr Lu Bo judged for the competition, and gave the players a great deal of encouragement and a rich set of pertinent comments. For the first time, the competition combined philanthropy awareness of Chinese university students with business practice, which has significant importance to university students worldwide. Mr Lu also discussed with the organizer the possibility of co-hosting a similar international activity next year.
