Minister Mah Commends VCA


April 14, 2011 – Mr Mah Bow Tan, Minister for National Development of Singapore commended "Vertical City Asia" International Design Competition (VCA).

On April 14, in his keynote speech at the 2011 URA Corporate Plan Seminar, Minister Mah said, “I commend the initiative of our National University of Singapore (NUS) School of Design and Environment, in collaboration with the World Future Foundation (WFF), in organizing a Vertical Cities Asia International Competition on designing highly dense yet liveable communities. I am eagerly looking forward to the creative ideas that our young people will come up with.”

Since its start on Jan. 1st, 2011, "Vertical City Asia" International Design Competition has not only been reported intensively by the media of Singapore, but has also been commended by a senior administration official of Singapore.

VCA is sponsored by WFF and hosted by NUS. There are 10 universities in total that entered for the competition from Asia, Europe and North America. The preliminary competition is held from Jan. 1st, to Jun. 30th, 2011. The final contest will be held in Singapore on July 7th, 2011, and the award ceremony will be held on the following day.
