NUS Guests Visit Tianjin Eco-city

On June 8th, 2010, Prof Ong Choon Nam, Director of NUS Environmental Research Institute, and Mr. Victor Koh, Director of Development Office at NUS Business School, visited the Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-city. The NUS guests were invited and accompanied by Mr Lu Bo, Managing Director of World Future Foundation.
Prof Ong and Mr Koh first attended the Opening Ceremony of Vantone’s Green Supply Chain, then met with Mr Wang Weiji and Mr Meng Qun, Chairman and CEO of Tianjin Eco-city Investment and Development Co., Ltd. In the afternoon, they visited Vantone’s two real estate projects in Tianjin – The Vantone Mansion and the Legacy Homes. Finally, the NUS guests met with Dr Feng Lun, Chairman of World Future Foundation and Chairman of Beijing Vantone Group, and discussed the possibility of future cooperation at Tianjin Eco-city.
Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-city is a strategic cooperation project between China and Singapore to improve the living environment and build an eco-culture. It is a second project of great importance after Suzhou Industrial Park. Bearing realistic and historical significance, the project reflects two country’s strong determination in combating climate change, enhancing the environment as well as saving resources and energy.
